Guy's Thoughts on Tree Nuts
Happy summer - get outside and enjoy!
Kingston, WA --- We’ve added Macadamia nuts to our lineup of delicious CB’S Nuts Tree Nuts. Having identified a reliable source of high-quality nuts, Clark and Matt (whom you’ve seen in action at our retail location) then set about experimenting with the roast to finally achieve the perfect finished product. They experimented and the rest of us became taste-testers; nice work if you can get it!
Macadamias have joined the rest of the team—pistachios, cashews, almonds, pecans, and hazelnuts—and to celebrate their arrival we’re declaring July to be our official Nuts About Tree Nuts month. Use the promo code TREENUT10 for a dollar off each bag of any of our tree nuts you purchase online through the month of July.
Tree nuts have always been associated with a certain elegance: think cashews and almonds on cheese plates, pistachios with cocktails or sundowners, and of-course, the only one that will ever be seen at that French wedding champagne reception, “la noisette”, the crisp, tart, hazelnut. If these nuts are elegant, macadamias are down-right decadent! They have a lush texture and a deep smoky flavor, pop one in your mouth, close your eyes, and you’re lounging under a palm tree digging your toes into soft warm sand . . . and they do seem to go very well with chocolate! Remember how last month Katy (whom you also know from our retail store) was going wild with our new A.C. Horn caramelizer to bring you the best Jacker Snacks ever? Well now it’s Matt’s turn: he’s beginning to work on different chocolate covered macadamia nut recipes. Stay tuned for upcoming developments.
If that all sounds a bit hifalutin to you (July is fireworks and BBQ, right?) don’t worry: Tami, our company President, has got sort of a secret . . . because of their high natural oil content and inherent smokiness, there’s definitely something a little bacon-esque about those darn macadamias! She’s been finely slicing them on top of avocado toast and getting rave reviews from the Bowen tribe.
